Happy Monday, everyone! Hope your week is off to a great start.
Students at Tudorka started their week with music class. In case you haven’t had a chance to read Ms. Carmen’s note about this month’s music class themes, we’ve posted it here:
“In December the toddlers will listen to and identify different bell sounds (door bell, church bell, steeple bell). They will sing songs about ringing and shaking bells. To improve our listening skills we will match our bell playing with the dynamics of the music.
The preschoolers and pre-kindergarteners will also be exploring bells. Through hands-on introduction the children will learn a number of important concepts about sounds. They will become aware that some bells have to be shaken while others have to struck and learn how these qualities affect sound. We will build a musical scale out of hand bells. Our new song will also be about bells: “Listen for Bells in the Steeple” and “Bell Horses.” The children will be introduced to the musical concepts largo and allegro (slow and fast). We will listen to examples of these from the Carnival of Animals by Camille Saint-Saens.”
(Here’s a link to an animation set to the composition that you might enjoy watching and listening with your Tudorka Tot!)
In other news, students at Campus Drive have been busy enjoying winter-themed activities. Here are some photos.
Have a great week!
