Happy Sunday, everyone!
This is a friendly reminder about Spirit Week! We will celebrate the last week of the school year by amping up our silliness with special themes every day. Here is the breakdown:
Monday: Crazy hat or hair
Tuesday: Silly socks
Wednesday: Sports teams
Thursday: Pirates or tropical clothing
Friday: Dress as your favorite character
In other news. ..did you hear that preschoolers from Mountain rescued their school from Oobleck last Friday? (Well, maybe they summoned it like the king….)
Ms. Crystal’s class had a sensorial blast conducting this exciting science experiment. They made green Oobleck, a sticky substance (or a non-toxic example of a non-Newtonian fluid—thanks, Wikipedia!) named after the ooze in the 1949 book, “Bartholomew and the Oobleck” by Dr. Seuss.
An easy, entertaining activity for kids and adults, Oobleck is simply a suspension of starch in water. It acts like a liquid while being poured, but like a solid when a force is acting on it.
The kids couldn’t get enough Oobleck! Here is the recipe from Instructables.com.
