Dinosaurs, Catepillars and Preschoolers, OH MY!

TGIF, everyone!

While you’ve been trying to keep cool, we’ve been having fun at school! Our May preschool curriculum is in full effect. Here is an udpate:

At Campus Drive, students have been been learning all about the cold blooded creatures who once roamed the Earth — DINOSAURS! In this unit, children have been learning all about reptiles and dinosaurs. Here are a few of the books we’ve read so far.

  • Crocodile Smile by Sarah Weeks
  • Five Little Monkeys Sitting in a Tree by Eileen Christelow
  • Snakes by Gail Gibbons
  • Chameleon, Chameleon by Joy Cowley
  • Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile by Bernard Wabler
  • When Dinosaura Came with Everything by Elise Broach

At Mountain Blvd., we’ve been learning about what flies and scurries and can help our garden grow — INSECTS AND SPIDERS! Children are observing a butterfly metamorphosis, and will watch ants tunneling in an ant farm. They are learning the body parts of each bug, singing songs about insects and reading science books.

The Infant and Toddler/Twos Rooms at both sites have also been enjoying water play! Don’t forget to bring extra clothes!

Have a great weekend, everyone!
